20/10/2025

More than 150 participants gathered in Montenegro to explore how short food supply chains, local production, and green logistics can shape a more sustainable Mediterranean food system. 🇲🇪

Organised as part of the Interreg Euro-MED GARDEN project, the event brought together researchers, local producers, policymakers, and students to share ideas and practical experiences.

From local stories to regional cooperation

The programme featured:

  • 🌾 Inspiring stories from small producers building resilient local value chains

  • 🎓 Research presentations by students highlighting innovation in sustainable food systems

  • 🗣️ Stakeholder discussions on logistics, circular economy, and local development

“Hand in Hand” – The Local Producers’ Fair

As part of the event, the Local Producers’ Fair “Hand in Hand” showcased authentic Montenegrin products and celebrated cooperation between science, business, and community. The fair also marked World Food Day 2025, symbolising that transformation truly grows hand in hand. 🤝

This gathering reaffirmed that collaboration at every level — from local farmers to regional networks — is essential for building greener, fairer, and more connected food systems across the Mediterranean. 💚
