A new electric food-delivery vehicle was officially launched at the Heraklion Central Food Market, marking a major step forward in sustainable urban logistics under the GARDEN project.
On 18 December 2025, the vehicle was presented and handed over for operational use at the Heraklion Central Food Market, a key logistics hub serving 37 merchants across Crete.
Organised by HERAKLIO S.S.A., the launch event gathered city representatives, market stakeholders, and project partners. Mayor Alexis Kalokairinos highlighted the environmental benefits of the pilot, emphasizing reduced emissions and noise levels.
Implemented within Work Package 3, the pilot demonstrates how electromobility can improve operational efficiency while significantly reducing environmental impact. A follow-up workshop on Sustainable Urban Mobility and Green Food Distribution further supported knowledge exchange and stakeholder engagement.
